Enjoy running, be consistent and the results will be coming. My goal is to improve the athlete's running ability but also maintain injury free.
I am a busy mom of 3 kids with full time job. I am not good at distance running at all when I grew up, always is the last one who finished 800-meter run in my class. I like gym classes but hate running in the past, thought it is boring to run so long without talking to anyone and too lonely. But after my yongest one went to elementary school, I am "forced" by my husband to go out run (I gained a lot of weight after 3 kids and busy work).
Then I joined hopkinton running club, and able to always find people to run with even although I was slow. People are very nice and we have chance to socialize during running and after the run. I started to enjoy running more and very early running with the club fits my kids schedule perfectly.
At year 2019, I was motivated to run full mrarathons. The first one I tried was a failure. Even though I was abel to finish but I got injuried before and after the race, and hit the wall during the race. But this didn't defat me. I tried again in the fall in the same year then got BQed.
When pandemic hit in 2020, I was running with my husband a lot in the trail since very limited club running. I started to love trail running at that time, the beatiful scenery and softer ground make me feel good. So I started doing both trail and road run. In 2021, I ran 4 full marathons with 3 back to back. But luckly I was able to maintain injury free since I listend to my body and started to take immediately action when feel ache.
Durint the years of training marathons, I started to run tracks more and participate road races to improve my speed. The consistent training pays off, even though I was bad at running to start, now I was able to do well in short races and become faster.
I started running ultra in 2020 (virtual 50k in 2020). And then did more trail ultra in 2021/2022/2023, I joined trail animal club in 2021 and learned a lot on trail running. And I finished my first 100 miler in 2023 in 24.5 hours.
Now I want to give back and share my experience and also gain more knowledge on running so that can help more runners achieve their running goal and become healther and happier.
Start walk/run at year 2018, now finished many races including from 5k-ultra marathons (road+trail). As a usatf member, I participated the usatf new england grand prix road races since 2021.
Completed 11 in-person marathons so far:
Yidong finished 2023 bay state marathon with BQ time 03:12:34 (2nd place age group), 13 minutes ahead of his age qualifying time. Because he has chronic baker cyst and flat feet, he hasn't run much since his marathon 2019 with time 3:24:52. I was able to give him the plan based on his busy schedule, and he was able to accomplish his dream with only 12-weeks training without any injury.
Winter snow running is a good way to build strength and mental toughness
1st place age group
Finished the first 100 miler
